Westway recently attended FABTECH Canada, CPMX Mechanical and Plumbing Exposition, and the NASCC Steel Conference—all within the month of March!
FABTECH Canada is Canada’s fabricating, welding, metal forming, and finishing conference. It is always a great event that brings together all of the various professions in the manufacturing and fabricating industries: job shop owners, metal fabricators, plant managers, corporate executives, engineers, welders, manufacturing equipment innovators, end users, and distributors. There is something for everyone and a lot to learn, this year’s show was packed with panel discussions, live demonstrations, and educational sessions to help you grow your business or career in the metal forming and fabricating industry.
We were pleased with the attendance of the show—we got to meet many of our loyal customers face-to-face! We brought in 5 machines to display at our booth this year which included: a FABMASTER hydraulic ironworker, a TIMESAVERS wide belt sanding machine, and a Baykal 10’x132 CNC hydraulic press brake. But the stars of the show were the SafanDarley E-Brake and the new SOCO tube bender; model SB32x4A-3SV-U. We spent a lot of time demonstrating the benefits of the 100% electronic operation and improved bending accuracy that the SafanDarley E-Brake offers.
The SOCO tube bender received a lot of interest; this new product is able to bend a tube in both a clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. It allows you to achieve very complex mirror image bends that traditionally required the use of two machines and a welder. Click here for more about the U Series, and if you’re interested in this new machine from SOCO then contact us for more details and pricing.
Toronto was also the host of the 2014 NASCC Steel Conference put on by the American Institute of Steel Construction. It was great to have the event in Canada this year, and we were happy to meet with so many industry professionals in the United States and abroad. We hope our recent “spring” weather didn’t scare you away from visiting us the next time the event takes place on our turf!
